In my freshman year of high school, I took a manufacturing class where I was introduced to multiple different manufacturing methods and tools such as CNC Routing, CNC Milling, band saws, belt sanders, and other power tools. For our final project, we were assigned to make anything we wanted but we had to use most the things we learned to make it. I have been playing guitar for a long time and I watched many videos of people making their own guitars. Because of this, I wanted to try my hand at making my own. I designed the body as two parts to be made using the CNC router and glued together. My dad got a guitar from a friend for free which I cannibalized for the neck and other hardware inside like the pickups. In the end, it looked great but didn't work great, which taught me many valuable lessons for the next time I make one.
