Learning product design and engineering teaches you similar skills with focuses in different areas that when combined, can make some very cool projects. I love making things that aren't only useful, but also appealing. Applying engineering skills to making art is fun as well, as not everything always needs a purpose. Below are some things I have made that I'm proud of, but don't exactly warrant their own section.
I wanted my own airpods case with a nice design and texture as well as my name on it, so I designed this and made it on the Stratasys J55 polyjet printer.
I wanted to test my abilities of using 2d objects to make a 3D object so I made a laser cut GLaDOS from the Portal game series. I used superglue to attatch it all together and it ended up pretty great!
Matching dragon pendants I made using a laser cutter and UV printer in collaberation with my girlfriend at the time.
In one of my high school engineering classes, we had to make a light sculpture using a laser cutter and a CNC-milled base. I wanted to set mine apart from the rest of the classes and make a base with a beautiful and complex shape so I made the Statue of Liberty and the structure she stands on. We also had to use an Arduino nano to code a light sequence for the lights below the sculpture that we soldered to the board.
